Collection: Roman 509-27 B.C Coins

Romans democratic era: 509-27 B.C

Coinage minted within the period where the city state of Rome existed as a Republican government. The most notable moment of this era, numismatically, was towards the end, where Julius Caesar had his likeness depicted on coinage while still alive. This act of self-aggrandisation did not end well! Alas, it led to the most known roman coin: the denarius of Brutus (better known as the Ides of March coin).

Sadly, we are not made of money, so this coin is not available on our website.
